 Post subject: Bent Dolphin Striker

My used hobie 16 came complete with a bent dolphin striker post. At the time I did not know to look for this. My question is, when I replace the post should I go ahead and replace the rod as well. Do I even need to replace the bent post? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
