I grew up sailing a Hobie 16 and would like to buy another one.

Can someone point me to

1) MSRP of a new Hobie 16
2) Used "blue book" type prices

Any years that I should avoid??

Thanks

What area of the country do you live in? This will have some effect on the price.

In New England and the Eastern Seaboard you can pick up a used Hobie 16 in pretty good condition with a trailer for under $1500. How much under depends on the age of teh boat, the age of the sails and how much extra stuff comes with it.

By me, you can pick up a Hobie 16 National or Worlds (can't remember which race it was, somone on this forum will correct me) for about $8,000 as almost new with very nice equipment.

Also, check eBay for used H16's. There are lots of them for sail all of the time.

I live in Ohio and just purchased a 1980 Hobie 16 for $750.00 with trailer. The baot is in pretty good condition, just needs a litle cleaning up. On a scale from 1 to 10 with 10 being the best I would rate it a 8 1/2
