I just saw a picture on the web of an H16 with the tramp installed backwards. That is, the thin strip that runs port to starboard along the rear cross bar was instead up at the front cross bar, such that there wasn't a gap at the rear with the skipper.

Since I've seen it so rarely I gotta ask, is this crazy? Are there any known issues to doing this (other than having my tramp pockets facing backwards!)?

Thanks in advance all!

I have been sailing my 83 H16 with the tramp backward for the past three years.

The good -
Can strap my oar and righting bag neetly underneath up front beneath the mast.

The bad -
The halyard pocket is worthless as it is at the back. Also pebbles collect on the tramp and do not have any place to fall. Kill my knees.
