HULL CRACK

I have a crack in my left hull. It's just forward of the lower rudder hinge on the outboard side of the boat. Vertical about 2 inches tall. There is no evidence of how it got there that i can see. It looks like its pushed out from the inside. Oh yes, i just bought this boat. It was there when I got it. I'm good with glass rerpair, so thats not an issue. I'm just wondering if this is a common crack spot. I cant post a pic here. don't know how. Any thoughts?
