There are no turnbuckles used on the forestay because it is only in temporary use while, holding up the mast until the jib is raised. The wire in the jib becomes the forestay and is tightened by the jib halyard. You get some mechanical advantage on the jib halyard by running the line around the cheek block, up through the little pulley in the halyard and back down to the cleat. The v-cables (bridle) should have the bow shackle and stay adjuster described in the previous post.
