I store my '81 H16 on a private beach. I cover the tramp but not the hulls. I used a 10'x20' tarp for a while but it seemed like more hassle that it was worth.

Both hulls are very solid with no delam and at this point I would think the damage would have been done already, but how much should I be worried about with the uncovered hulls?

Thanks in advance!

The time spent covering the boat is well worth it. I use a huge ripstop tarp I bought at Meijer with grommets and four bungee cords, cut a slot for the mast. Covers the entire boat. Sun is the #enemy of fiberglass, Dacron, vinyl, etc. It will fade the hulls and damage the gelcoat. If you have white hulls the effect will be less noticable (which is why Hobie eventually stopped making colored hulls I believe). The boat will stay cleaner and last longer overall. Tramp cover is fine for short term but if you leave the boat for several days or a week throw on the boat cover.
