The head of my main has only a few rivets holding the sail to the plate, most are missing. I would like to replace the missing rivets. Does anyone know what kind of rivets or fastener to use? Thanks. And now for something completely different.

8010071 RIVET 3/16x 5/16 ALUM

These are like classic iron worker's rivets. Head on one end of a metal shaft. You place the rivet in a hole and pound / flair the other end to clamp the two parts together.

Place a few rivets through the holes to align the plates and clamp with vise grips. Place the head of a rivet on a vise / anvil type surface. Best tool flairs the shaft end a bit while it pounds it down flush with the surface. You can use a straight punch with a hammer or just a hammer.
