The connector to the jib clew is just a shackle. It's just installed so the bow of the shackle goes through one hole and the pin through the other. It's a bit of a pain to put on (need three hands), but it absolutely minimizes the block stack-up at the clew.
The control lines are about 10' long each. I'd take a piece of stainless steel seizing wire and wrap it around the post to hold the pin up. Then two half hitches in the line (a slip-style knot) is all you need:

Until the knot sets in new line, you'll want to tape the end back to the standing part to keep it from coming undone.
