The sheave on the jib halyard cheek block is broken to sh..., so I just bought a new one.
The old cheek block is installed like in the manual with the sheave on the bottom.

It would seem that it would make more sense to flip it upside down so the sheave is on top and that metal bar on the bottom. That way, when feeding the halyard through the blocks, it could not slide off the sheave before tension is added to it.
Is my logic good or is there a reason it's the way it is?
