As some of you know, I am a new 16 owner and rookie cat sailor. Anyway, this weekend I was privileged to participate in the Daggerless Divisional Regatta at Lake Hefner, Oklahoma where me and my skipper sailed my 1985 "Ghetto" boat to a 2nd place finish in 16B. Thanks to Jake Dragoo for his patience and leadership during the races. I enjoyed meeting everyone from Tulsa, Minnesota, Iowa, Texas, and everywhere else, and appreciate all the help and info that was offered. Thanks to everyone who drove all that way to make this event successful.
Also, after the races, Jake and I took my boat out for some skipper lessons where I promptly did my first pitch-pole and flip. The starboard hull submerged and the entire boat went ass over tit. Woo Hoo!
Needless to say, this 45 year-old body has many bruises, cuts, scrapes, and aches. I can't wait 'till next weekend.
So much learned and so much to learn.
Alan
