Hello, first of all my H16 is pretty old, but we cannot find the SN anywhere on the hulls. According to the sail pdf the jib is 73, the main is all white. None have plastic windows. I got it from a friend of my dad for free in pretty bad shape, you can notice some custom mods like the tiller crossbar which was a windsurf boom with adjustable length.

Well to make a long story short the old travel made up of these small metal drums stuck in this plastic piece disintegrated. Here's an older pic as reference:

I've looked at the Hobie catalog but the traveler listed says its for a 94 and up and I'm pretty sure mine is not a 94.I've also seen Harken makes a traveler but no idea if it fits.

I know some people here have had older boats. What do you recommend I get?

The older version is still available

LOWER ROLLER UNIT 106

(New Style is part #112)

The wheels on the newer version are larger and brass. They don't chew up the traveller track like the older version does. Odds are, your track has little divots in it on the inside - that's what causes the roller unit to fail.

You may want to consider upgrading to the newer deep-profile traveller track and using a newer lower roller unit. They also operate much better under load than the old version.

Will this upgrade work for any boat? Is there a part number for the kit?

Hobie doesn't even sell the shallow profile track anymore.

Is this a complete kit or just the track? Do I need to buy a separate traveler, rivets, end caps etc.?

Just the track.

You don't really need the end caps. It's nice to be able to remove the traveler car when you put away the boat. Keeps it clean.

Of course, you need to tie a knot in the traveler line to keep the car from shooting out the track in a jibe.
