I've been considering buying a new outhaul system 2:1 for my new (recently bought)
H16 1994 but I don't know the advantages it might provide.

Can someone tell me that and also the advantages of the new downhaul 6:1

There's almost no advantage to the 2:1 outhaul, as the outhaul does not have much affect on the sail shape. Other than making sure it's snug, I never touch mine (and I've been racing 16s for 38 years).

The 6:1 downhaul on the other hand, is much, much better than the stock system. Easier to use, easier to cleat / uncleat.

100% agreement with Matt B - I changed to the 6:1 downhaul and the difference is amazing inadjustability and ease of use. Outhaul, pull snug and leave alone - no changes needed so adding purchase is pointless
