Mooring a Hobie 15 club

hi all, i just got a hobie 15 club and i was wondering, i dont see any places to tie off the cat, so if you wanted to tie it off next to a boat, u cant??....we usually have a group of us that all have boats and we raft up and camp for about 3 days, so i have been wanting to take the cat with me, so i can sail around the islands...but there is no place to tie it off!......Is there any ways or suggestions that i can use?....thank you!

splice a loop of rope and attach it to the end of your forestay, that wil allow the boat to swing into the wind and if it gets rough enough to do any real damage to your standing rigging it would have already ripped out a cleat anyway. just watch for water in the hulls.

Thanks for that reply!, but i was wondering about tying up next to a boat?...please note that there is a good current coming through the boats. should i take the sails down when it is anchored or just leave them uncleated?....thanks for your time!

always take your sails down, you nevver know what the wind is going to do, you can use the stanchions to tie the boat off.

ok, thanks again, but what are the stanchions?

stanchions are the posts that attach the tramp to the hulls.

hi again, also do you think it is possible for a 135 pound teenager to sail a hobie 15 solo?....and also do you think that he can right it up if it capsizes?
