I was prepping the boat for a run today and notice some little splits/cracks right up in the crease under the outer lip on the starboard hull, just around the shroud anchor. They extend about 8" foreward and maybe 2-3" aft.

They don't appear to open up when I pull on them, but I can't apply the same amount of pressure as the shroud would in a good breeze.

They are matching hull #'s and the port hull is fine in this area.

After a bit more of a look around, I noticed similar marks toward the bow on both hulls. They start about 6 inches back from the bow tangs and go for about 2 feet. Again, they don't look like they will open up any time soon, but after reading about SplashTX's woes where he lifted a section and had to trash the hull, I don't want to find out the hard way.

Any ideas???

I can post photos later, but it's dark outside right now....

...and I'm scared of the dark.

Pictures would be good.

Stress cracks are bad news.

I went to tale pics this morning and found all 3 of my digital cameras with dead flat batteries.

I had another good look at it and actually managed to get a few drops of water out of one of the cracks. :( ....

....the guys at the shop said I'll have it back for the weekend.

Just got a call this morning to say that my love is ready to be picked up.

I was in the area so I dropped in to see and find out the price. $350. I am MORE than happy with that.

He has done an OUTSTANDING job repairing this. He said that it eventually would have opened up in another year or so, but now, you would never know. I really regret not taking pictures before-hand, but if "someone" close to you is injured, you're not interested in comparing before and after shots at the time, you just want to get them to the hospital, and fixed!

I was put on to this guy by the local dealer and I am SO glad I went and spoke to him about it.

I may get wet this coming Sunday afterall!!! :D

I may post some pics of the finished job.
