Hi all. I have just purchased a new H16. The comtip has been damaged by the trucking company and needs to be replaced. Have any of you replaced a comtip? If so how did you do it?

make the shipping company buy you a new mast, if this is not possible then.

Drill out the rivets, heat the mast where the comptip is inserted, it goes in about 10 inches I think, to mealt the epoxy it it put togeather with. Play tug aware with the mast it will pop apart. we have tied the comptip to a tree, the mast base to a truck and pulled them apart this way, not sure you want to tak this aproach to a new mast or not. you should be able to just get 2 people on each end and pull it apart. good luck let us know how it turns out!
