 Post subject: Hobie 16 rudder shape

Is there a difference in shape from mid-80s heavy yellow rudders to the current white nylon or EPO3 rudders? More curious than anything else.

Yes.

The outlines are essentially the same, but the cross-section is a much more refined shape on the EPO rudders - thicker with a more accurate "teardrop" shape and a much finer trailing edge. The EPOs are also lighter, much stiffer and the surface is much smoother. The difference between the two is night and day both in appearance and performance.
