Nate, I grew up in Corpus and my Dad took us to Lake Mathis to sail when I was 7-9 years old. Completely restored my H16 and can't find anyone where I live now in Portland Oregon to respond to a "newer to sailing" buddy. Best of luck on your attempts and adventures!! Let's see your Hobie.... pic?-John

there are so many places to sail around here I'm exited to get out and try a few.

my little boat isn't much, i picked it up from a gentleman who's wife did't want him to have it anymore for $50, needed quite a bit of work to get back on the water. but I've been having a blast on the small lakes around san antonio.

Im having trouble getting a picture too post, how dose one go about that on this forum?

IIRC there was a Corpus guy looking for other sailors on thebeachcats.com forums a while back......you mat want to try there: http://www.thebeachcats.com/forums

There are also active groups in Austin (http://www.austincats.net/) and Texas City (https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/tcdyc) who may know others located closer to you.

Good luck!

Hi Nate,

I just bought a hobie 16 and I race out of the Austin Yacht Club. Feel free to message me here if you'd like to sail together. I would be more than happy to make a trip to the Corpus area for some weekend camping trips/sailing as well. Although, this weekend I'll be racing up here, there's a beach cat regatta at the AYC.
