So I just wanted to get some input on what you use and why before I buy the new tramp and lacing, Bungee type lacing? or regular rope type? or what?

I used low stretch Dyneema Core around 3-4mm.

My tramp is drum tight :)

What he said.

Don't use bungee. Smaller is better, although at some point the lacings are like little wires that catch your feet. 3 to 4 mm is best.

Not to pile on but I agree that Dyneema line is incredible stuff for this application. In 1/8" diameter, it has a breaking strength of 2500 pounds with no stretch. It also has a slippery exterior that makes it easier to pull tight in the grommets. There is so much extra space in the grommets that I also lace a 1/4" bungee cord down the center and rear strips to provide a clean way to attach my righting bag, paddle, jackets, water bottles, and similar stuff without cluttering up the tramp.

Dyneema is the brand name of a type of material, like Dacron or Kevlar. You won't find a line called that because that's what the line is made of, not the brand name of the line.

Probably the most common brand of line made from Dyneema is Samson's Amsteel. You can find it pretty much anywhere marine line is sold - West Marine, APS, etc.

I used FSE Robline - Dinghy Control Line, comes in lots of colors and sizes.

The Dyneema line that I was referring to is the simple single braid line like these two:

http://www.westmarine.com/buy/samson-ro ... P014895700
http://www.westmarine.com/buy/new-engla ... P012357679

These are bare Dyneema ropes without any cover and are very inexpensive ($.46-$.54/foot for 1/8"). The knock on bare Dyneema is that it is very slippery, which makes it hard to hold and even harder to tie knots in that will hold. But when used for tramp lacing, the slippery exterior is an advantage because it makes it easier to tension the rope in the grommets. I have not had any problems getting my knots to hold on the tramp using either a bowline or a couple half hitches.

The FSE Dingy Control line that coralreefer mentioned will work fine but it has a braided polyester cover. I actually use that same rope in 3/16" diameter for my jib traveler and trapeze lines. I love it but definitely prefer the bare Dyneema for the tramp.

I use amsteel blue. it slides right through the grommets making it VERY easy to get things as tight as you could possibly want, and stretches very, very little... And it is soft...

Ditto on Amsteel Blue. Despite its name, Amsteel Blue comes in several colors to include yellow. Check it out on the APS site.

While the picture shows yellow, the only colors currently available are red, blue, green and purple.

That line is also rather stiff to use in this application. The Dacron cover doesn't slide through the grommets easily.

5 mm Yale Vectrus comes in gold (it's also a Dyneema single braid, like Amsteel). You could downsize from that (to 3 mm), but the lacings end up being like cheese cutters - hard on the feet/hands.
