I just started sailing last july, I tipped her over plenty, even pitched poled it twice, once trapped out and sent me on a tinkerbell, to the water in front of the mast still hooked on, it was a bit of a fight to get unhooked, boat stayed up and was still moving. I must have weather helm because I've never felt the boat would leave me at all. I would do as suggested and sail it. what do you mean by "lock in and out when turning"? A life line off the bow? hmmmm in the ocean it might help, if you could find it which i doubt. Good luck!
you use a rope twice as long as the boat,,fasten it in the bow..other end a small iron ring,,so its easy to hook in and out...put the excess rope in a small kind of elastic bag you fasten on the shroud....on your self you use a kitesurf lease or like

so this setup on both side of the boat,,,
it works i just tried it

depending on the wind the boat capsizes or just turn against the wind,,,atleast so far

here we can have currents around 3-4 knots so boat is gone if your unlucky
