I understand the attaching a line to the jib halard. That sounds great. My questions is....Upon raising the mast....where is the base of the mast? Is it pinned to the mast step? Or is it to be rasied with the base resting on the ground? I would assume it to be pinned. The question then is, how on earth do you pin a mast that is hanign 20 feet of the back crossbar? The mast wants to obviously tilt upward at the base....I am new to the 16s and just need a tad bit of assistance. Thanks

Basicly, I just straddel the mast, with one had hold it in place and the other is used to pin it. Yes it is much eaiser to ask a passer by for a little bit of assistance but it can be done.
