I know the two rudder pin holes in the deck of the Hobie 16 above the gudgeon are simply cosmetic but I was wondering if anyone has ever had any success repairing them? The two rudder pin holes on my boat have hairline cracks that look as if they will give out sooner than later and I would like to keep the original look of the boat if possible.

I ground/cut two 45 degree angles to the hole. Looks like it was meant to be that way. I haven't painted the exposed edges yet, but if you did, it would look even better.
