Hey Guys,

So it seems after more of my research, I have an old traveler setup for both my Jib and Mainsheet. I am the most confused about the older mainsheet travelers, and the two lines coming off each side of the traveler that are tied off on both sides to the rear crossbar, shown in the picture. Are you suppose to un-cleat it from the clamps on the rear crossbar to allow the car to travel? If anyone can help breakdown how best to make this work for the first couple of sails before I upgrade to a modern traveler it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Both tight to hold the car in the middle for sailing up wind.

Ease the car down the track (Travel out) for windy conditions or off the wind sailing angles. All the way out for down wind sailing.
