I haven't sailed a 16 in a while.....I spent the last 10 years sailing a large monohull and am now excited to get back to this small cat. I am attaching a picture of the traveller and have questions on how this is used. I am used to a different system with corner blocks and a moving car with the sheets....this one seems to be fixed, but adjustable with a pin...though there are no corner blocks.....how to I rig this system properly, as it is new to me....this is an older 16 as well.

This is the original. There are kits for adding the traveler. The adjustment line ties to the pin and holds it up / unlocked.

As I found on the link from mmiller (and thank you very much!), the traveller kit can be ordered...and I assume the will retrofit into the the current track?

Does anyone know what year my job system is so that I can better find a manual for that period? Or, does anyone know what the these current components are called so that I can find a video on YouTube to see how the current system works?

Your system is very old.....the manual for older 16s is linked in the FAQs of this forum, and jib sheet rigging is on P. 19:
https://static.hobiecat.com/digital_assets/H16_Manual.pdf?_ga=2.117286734.974138500.1589973039-1093327542.1561755906
In general, you travel the jib sheet car all the way inboard for beating and all the way outboard for broad reaching. In-between it's in-between.

There are many options for upgrading the jib sheet/traveler system. In addition to those mentioned above, some are discussed here:
https://www.hobie.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=66357. These systems/parts are compatible with all 16s up to '94/'95.....after that the traveler tracks are integrated into the crossbars.

With your current system, you don't even have the swivel cam cleats on the front crossbar, so you're basically starting from scratch, and it will be an expensive upgrade. I'd suggest you figure out what you've got and get some time sailing it before spending any coin on new stuff. You may find that you have other, higher priorities.

Hope this helps....
