The dolphin striker on my H16 is loose, as is the mast step. I've re-riveted the mast step, however, the threads that go into the mast step are slightly stripped. And more important, the hole through the front cross beam where the dolphin striker feeds into is worn and now larger then the dolphin striker. All seems secure with the mast being pulled down and the striker bar pulling up. However, the larger hole allows the dolphin striker to wiggle back and forth. This may have caused the mast step rivets to loosen. I'm not sure which came first..... Loose rivets or large hole.

The question is..... what is the best way to fill the gap in this hole? I've tried JBWeld but have not put it to the sailing test. Any other ideas on how to remove the gap?

Thank you in advance for any and all ideas. I'm currently building an H16 from parts that survived Hurricane Isaias and parts I have purchased and parts I've had around for 40+ years of being a Hobie Cat lover.
