I upgraded all my lines to the latest OEM Hobie kit and some lines (for example, the trapeze lines) have the cover slipping back from the core where the lines were cut. It works fine, but would like to keep a clean rig.

I tried the "old school" flame trick and the new core (I suspect its "Dyneema" UHMwPE) doesn't easily melt and fuse with the cover (which does melt). For my jib halyard (bare UHMwPE), I just wrapped in electrical tape and cut it clean and it seems to hold Ok. I suspect the electrical tape may work here, but wanted to check with the greater fleet to see if anyone has a successful technique to keep the ends of these new high tech?

Thanks!
Daniel

I have pulled the core out and cut about an inch off it.
Then pull the cover back over it so now the core is
down inside the cover. Then melt the cover.
The core will be 'captured' inside.
