When I bought my H16 and trailered it home I noticed that the mast bounces much more towards the rear than towards the front.

I figured it was because the rear of the trailer bounces more than the front where the hitch/pivot point of the trailer is closer to the truck/car.

In other words up and down movement caused by road bumps etc will be magnified towards the rear of the trailer.

Then I switched the mast to have the comp tip facing forward where the bounce is less....reducing the posibility of snapping the comptip when the trailer bounces around in the road.

How do you trailer ure masts???

I've never heard of anyone snapping off a comptip due to trailering. Seems you would have to disconnect all of the shrouds and trap wires in order to spin the mast around.

All I do is flip the mast over (per Hobie recommendation) and use padding so the luff track isn't damaged.
