 Post subject: Sail storage tube

I made a sail storage tube from a length of 12"plastic pipe and made the end caps from a 4" sections cut from the bottom of dry wall finish containers.Caps fit snug and the whole thing looks neat.
I was wondering if I should vent the end caps to let moisture out or if that would let moisture in while trailering in wet weather.
Any thoughts ?

I store my trailer mounted tube sloped so any warmer moisture vents out the higher end. Condensate (if any) drains out the lower end.

I don't worry about traveling in-the-wet as I'm going to-and-from the lake anyway. After a sail I unpack and allow the gear to dry before storing it.

Sweet! love the galvnized tube and very nice workmanship. Now I have more ideas for me think over. Now I need to find a chunk of "drop tube" from a local contractor.

I have noticed considerable condensation can collect inside my Storpedo when the conditions are right. Since I split my tube lengthwise, I just open it and leave it open when the trailer is in the garage.
