How tight should the bridles be? On the boat I have the mast is leaning backwards and both side bridles is loose. Should it be adjusted so all bridles are tight, and the mast being more or less vertical?
You need to search here for some of the answers, but if your mast is being supported by the forestay then the shrouds will likely be loose and your mast raked aft more than usual. The wire in the luff of the jib becomes the forestay when jib is hoisted (the other forestay will go very slack). Even then, you may have a little slack in one or the other shroud, depending on which tack you are one. Go to the FAQs first, then maybe someone else can chime in with rigging links and tips.
