Hobie, are you hearing the feedback? When can we expect to see the new handle?

I shared the forum post with the design team - it's something they'll look to - maybe an accessory - not sure it would be standard since it would then keep the kayaks from stacking. Not sure we can make a handle scupper like an SUP - this is a different style of manufacturing - but there's always a chance... any change wouldn't occur till a model year switch (likely not until Sept / Nov timeframe when new model year rolls out typically)

How does a pocket in the middle of the boat or a retractable LIFTSUP handle affect stacking?

This should not be an accessory. Being able to carry this type of kayak solo should be a mandatory requirement. The current handles are useless. If two people carry they kayak, they will grab front and rear handles. Carrying it solo is unbearable due to the handle pinching your hand...

Stacking reference was about hard handles on the sides instead of the soft ones - nothing to do with molded handing SUP style... not sure if it'll work but they are looking at improvements all the time - like I said I shared this thread with the team and it's on the agenda. Nothing changes till 2023 so we'll see what they do - we're always improving product lines wherever possible. Thanks again for the suggestions.

Can anybody measure the distance between the handles screw in holes and post it here please?

I'm currently waiting for my Lynx, so I don't have one around - the handles will be one of the first things that I will change on it.

Did anybody try to modify and install the "Hobie H Rail Bolt On Rail Kit 9in" as side carry handles?

If Hobie made these they would be on back order like the H-Rails. Probably better to DIY otherwise you will be waiting 2 years for them.

Like the H rails it will probably be 4 months before you hear from them. Good luck.
