Hello,

I recently purchased a Hobie 18 and both mast clamps are broken on the trailer. Any tips or suggestions on where I can find these?
So far my best idea is to mount a bow stop to cradle the mast and run a strap over the mast to hold it down but ideally I'd like to find something made for this. Maybe I'm not searching the right term on the hobie part/accessory search?

Thanks for any help!

I assume you are talking about the forward and rear mast supports.
Try Trailex trailers, they sell forward and rear mast supports as parts for their cat trailers

Guessing you are referring to the large clamp that surrounds the mast and has a screw handle for tightening. Pretty sure those have been out of production for a decade or more. They did look secure and sturdy, but many were broken while bouncing down the highway. I remember people being unable to get parts for broken ones many years ago. Haven't seen one in so long that I had forgotten about them.

People do talk about using bow stops, but most mast supports have a much taller V-shape. Try searching for mast support, stand, and/or crutch. Doesn't seem like it would be difficult to fabricate something...just make sure it's well-padded, rubber-coated, or such.
