I sail my Getaway off the East Coast of Florida where the sun can be brutal; hence my desire for a bimini (aka helm shade). I can find none on the market, so I'm trying to jury rig something that arches from one wing to the other. Another idea I have is to buy a cheap pop-up tent and modify it to fit the boat. Anyway does anyone have a bimini for their Hobie cat?

I saw a photo of a Getaway with the sail down, and a tarp rigged for a sunshade. Lacking a boom makes that difficult, I don't know how they supported the ridge.
A Bimini that you can sit under, under sail, would be pretty low, I think. But hey, I just built a galley for my Getaway for cruising. I can put a Stoic A frame tent on the tramp. Let's see what you can figure out!
