Block hangers on the original booms were too far back, which put a lot of forward load on the boom and could damage the gooseneck.

The hanger was later moved forward a couple inches to reduce compression. I don’t know the exact amount, probably about 4-6”. The top block should only be slightly aft of the rear crossbar when the boom is centered.
