I bought a crusty 2000 Hobie Cat 17 from an auction. I know almost nothing about Hobie Cats. HIN is: CCMLZ941k900. On each hull, on top and near the beam, there is a metal thing with a rope coming out of it. If I pull up on the rope, it pulls up some small rudder-like thing into a cavity. This rudder-like thing is normally sticking out a bit from the bottom of the cavity it sits in.
What is this thing protruding from the bottom? What model of 2000 Hobie Cat came with whatever this is?
