Thanks, a Wave might be a good idea. Is the Wave as much fun as a Hobie 14? It looks kind of slow. Maybe in a couple of years when I get older.

61 and still not old. Gotta love that. Keep Sailing!

I second that. We've got a 75 year old in our fleet, sailing the 14T better then most of the young kids.

Wow, I am glad someone has actually done it. A Hobie 14 16 conversion. It sounded like a fantastic idea to me. If I had the ability and stamina I would have done it myself. I prefer to term Straycat. I live in GA or I might be tempted to come sail it with you. It is too cold up there for me. I even have to go to Florida for the winters from here. Burr. Happy sailing. Can you post a picture? Or email one to me at [email protected]

I do love my Wave though; it was a much better idea for me.

After reading most of the posts, I don't think your main reason was for righting the boat but to have more room with less power. My suggestion would be to get a 16 with a sail that can be reeffed at at one or two different heights. Then you can power or depower depending on who is sailing and how many passengers you have.

Just my thought, I have both a 16 and 14T
