Hey another 14 I'm looking at buying has serial CCM 4876 10673 ...

What is that? I mean Ive read and reread the serial number FAQ, and this serial doesnt make sense. got some extra digits, cant really be a 76 model built in 73, with no model letter code....... im confused.

I thought maybe the 4 was an A, but its etched very clearly into the other pontoon, and so I'm sure of the number.

Did the serial numberer have a little irish coffee before work?

Well thats just not good. Maybe its just a 73 that was done inbetween the switchover from hull pylons to sterns, and they were trying to create a new system or something. Its definitely the original color though, and the original serial, i.e. its not like someone just sanded and rewrote the serial after a new coat.

Who knows. Hulls are solid, and the tramp and sails are in great condition, and thats what matters.

Hey Peter, What does the registration say? People can do some crazy things with gel coat... Especially back in the 70's. Bring that sucker over here to SC and lets try it out! Are you doing Moss Landing?

Of course!! That is, if I can convince my friend to take our 16 out. The H14 is not quite up for it as it definitely has some non-Hobie regulation alterations, and hopefully a few more coming. The 16 on the other hand is all kosher and hobie, but just really old. But I'm really stoked about doin Moss Landing. Sounds like a blast. And as for stoppin by the ocean in the 14, sometime soon.
