I appologize up front. I did a quick search but I couldn't find anything.

My port hull is taking on way too much water. Opened the gudgeon after about four hours of sailing (1 hour of which was in a wicked rain storm) and the water came gushing out.

There are no visible holes in the hull. Where else could the water be coming in from and what is the best fix?

In order of likelihood:

Deck lip
(clean old silicone off and drizzle resin along seam while boat is upside down)

Pylons (silicone)

Gudgeons / drain plug (re-bed in silicone)

Use the vaccuum cleaner on blow / soapy water method to find the leaks.

I understand the concept of the soap and water method, but I have one question. I assume it is liquid dish soap, but what ratio of soap to water does one use?

Any ratio,,,dont measure. Like washing ure car with a water and soap bucket in a spray bottle u just want it to create bubbles when air comes out thru the leaks areas so u can identify them...then come back after all is dry and seal properly
