Winter project - the Seaway jib blocks are in great shape, but the springs inside the pins of the traveler cars seem to be 'soft'. Occasionally, the jib cars have slipped in the tracks, especially when bouncing around. Always an interesting experience when beating in chop.

Is the answer to renew the springs? I am NOT talking here about the spring on the outside of the joint between the block and the slide, (Spring H071) but the spring on the inside of the pin mechanism, the spring that forces the pin downwards so as to lock in the track.

How does one 'open' the pin to get at the springs?

John,
I don't think they are servicable. I had the head, round top with knurling, come off one and still couldn't get at the spring. Its a positive contact and shouldn't slip once engaged. You can replace the entire slide mechanism.
