I purchased an older Hobie Getaway and am getting it back to sailing condition. Mast Stepping ball was cracked and upon removal observers that the threads on the mast step stud were damaged necessitating replacement.
This post has a nut above and below fwd crossbar which were easily removed.
I expected stud to drop out, it will not and leary of using too much force.

Anyone know if it turns out or if it drops. Appreciate insight.
Dan

It passes through an inner reinforcement of aluminum. Likely just corroded to it. You can try to spin it out with Vice Grips or tap with a hammer.
