I bent my mast step bolt. Trying to replace it with a new one but the old one is corroded and difficult to remove... I was able to remove the nuts and washers, just wondering if anyone knows if there are threads inside the crossbar? Or can I just tap the bolt out with a hammer? I can't turn the bolt with vice grips....will have to come up with another way if in fact it must be unscrewed from the crossbar. Thanks!

When you ordered the replacement, did you look at the exploded view to see how it went together? My "guess" is you can tap them out since you had to de nut already, hobie isn't known for "belt and suspenders".

Thank you...I ended up using an angle grinder to make two flat sides, then a cresent wrench to break it free. worked like a charm!
