New Getaway but rudders kept popping up at speed on reaches. Suggestions?

Lots of discussion on this topic if you search for it. Basically the "fix" was to ensure you never leave the rudders part up and pin them when on the road to keep the plastic jaws from deforming permanently. Also inspect the housings to ensure they've been put together correctly and not misaligned. Unfortunately, there is no adjustment screw for tightening the jaws.

thanks for the advice... I've searched Ridder's and lock and nothing.

Thinking of drilling hole to us pins when locked down. But really isn't this a warranty issue?

The housings get distorted if the rudders are left partly down (Forces the housings outwards).

Tighten the hinge bolt (Not loosen).

Add a length of shock cord to hold the rudder down.

Called a kick back kit. 1544 KICK BACK KIT, TRENTEC

KICK BACK KIT
Returns rudders to locking position quickly and effortlessly. Really great when sailing in weed filled waters. Installs on the existing rudder bolts.

Thank you, so a recognised design problem if there is a dedicated kit commercially available to fix the problem. Have Hobie any plans to redesign the rudder stock and tiller assembly?
