I sailed a 2008 getaway for 10 years, only had issues burying the hulls in the back of a wave for the first few months until I raked the mask aft a bit.
Just took out a new-to-me 2017 and rigged it, I thought the same way, and within minutes had come to a screeching, violent halt. It doesn't actually pitchpole of course, but it was intense and scary.
Is it possible the redesigned hulls are more prone to this problem? Anyone have experience with both boats or fixing this problem in general?
