Journey of a Wave

Today I fell in love my Wave all over again sailing on little Lake Acworth GA in light winds with my wife... so peaceful, gliding along with little wind. You see I haven't been sailing it much the last couple of years but it holds a revered spot in my garage. I bought my 95 Wave new from Key Sailing of Pensacola Beach in June 95. I sailed it regularly in the Gulf Coast area. I towed it cross country to Monterey CA while I was going to grad school and sailed it often in Monterey Bay and once in Morro Bay. From there I had it shipped to Rota Spain where I sailed it in the Bay of Cadiz for 3 yrs. My first time sailing there I was escorted by some frolicking dolphins When I returned to the U.S. I had it shipped to Newport News VA where I sailed a little in the York River. I moved to Atlanta GA in 2002 and have sailed it infrequently in the local lakes. It isn't the best Hobie locale and I considered selling her. My son learned to sail on this boat as a young boy. I was so proud when he skippered it to the dock in Monterey harbor... surrounded by sea lions and sea otters. He is now turning 23 and we have fond memories of sailing this boat together... even dropping in a small lake in Oklahoma on our way across country. Today gave me a new love for this boat... simplicity and speed.
