Lets get together, eat some great food, talk with a LOT of kayak fishermen and women, have an all around great time and help some wounded vets in the process. You simply can't have a much better day than that !!

There will be a kayak fishing tourney , benefitting Heroes on the water, for Bass and or Crappie on Lake Ray Roberts on Saturday April 16th. there are about 75 confirmed so far for the GTG with 30 yaks confirmed already for the Bass tourney. Another dozen families (or more) will gather a few days early camping at the site, so there will be much fishing and eating for at least a few days. There are evening fish fries in the evening and pancake breakfast served early enough to get you out for the sunrise bite on tourney day.

There will also be a get-together for any and all kayak anglers on Saturday that would like to join in. Good food, crawfish boil ( and much grilling and fish fry also), and kayak dealers bringing yaks for on water demos. The gathering is free with a lot of great food !

Here is a link for more official info.

The spawn has just turned on and the fishing should be great as well as a lot of good food and fishing stories. Even if you are not close to the Dallas Fort Worth area it would be worth a drive. This has been such a success in the past it is turning into more of a regional gathering. The Park is a state park well maintained and in a great location for kayaking. We will pretty well dominate this area of the park.

Hope to see some new friends there and raise some serious money for the wounded veterans served by Heroes On The Water. http://heroesonthewater.org/home ).

If you can't make the trip maybe you can give a hand from distance. We always appreciate sponsorships however large or small. A donation can be in the form of services or products to raffle off or HOW can always use a hand with a bit of cash. ALL participants in HOW are strictly volunteer and every penny goes to serve our wounded vets but there are never enough pennies around. We took over 1200 wounded vets out kayak fishing last year and are growing very fast.

Shoot me a PM if you would like to show some appreciation to these vets during this event or go to the HOW site and talk to Jim about how you can help him help our wounded young men and women that have given so much for us. We have chapters all over the country and all can use any help you can afford.

Thanks in advance to all that come or help and a special thanks to our local Hobie dealer, Mariner Sails that has been a staunch supporter of HOW since they first learned of our work. Phill Pittman (Carver)

These pics explain best what Heroes On the Water does. They don't need subtitles, they speak for themselves.
