Took about 15 minutes worth of Dremel work but I finally have my Raymarine Dragonfly 5 Pro installed and ready to go. The install was pretty straight forward. I kept the install drill-less. I used a Ram wedge mount on the front rod holder and the appropriate mount for the fish finder. I won't know how the transducer will read until this weekend.

I used a cutting wheel and a sanding drum to get it down. It's crude but hopefully that doesn't affect the transducer and the signal.

Now it's ready.

So the transducer goes into the channel and the cover plate presses on it. It's a tight fit and would take a lot of finangling to get it to move. I uploaded a vid of me wiggling it within reason and it's not moving at all.

Everything else is standard procedure for the rest of the install. As stated, I used a Ram wedge mount to mount the fish finder. In order for the wedge mount to securely/tightly fit in the rod holder, you have to move the o-rings down towards the middle. This allows greater pressure on the rings against the interior of the rod holder.

And finally I couldn't neglect the other side. Put in another Ram wedge mount and a rod holder from Yakattack.

There you have it. It was a pretty easy thing to install. If you have any questions let me know. Hope this helps at least one person out there. 8)

Nicely laid out with instructions and photos. Thanks for taking the time to post it. Hows it working for you? did grinding down the posts on the transducer cover make any noticable changes to the way the boat behaves?

I was also curious, when you flip over, do the position of the ram balls and equipment prevent you for getting back into the boat? I always seem to get bruised up after dragging myself back aboard.
