Hi I just bought myself a used 2013 outback in the UK. Went out in it for the first time on Sunday. Wow I was blown away by how much fun I had. Can't believe I've never tried one before. I immediately put my ocean kayak ultra 4.3 up for sale :) I have the turbo fins and I was stunned at how fast you can go while taking selfies , eating pasties and texting really are stunning kayaks.

I've just removed the lowrance elite 4 hdi and would like to install it in the outback. I have the lowrance scupper transducer kit. But I'm a bit worried as the transducer would still be quite exposed. I'm not sure whether to do that or go for a wet install? I haven't had much luck marine gooping or sikaflexing transducers in. Always seem to get bubbles.

Really undecided what to do about rod holders. I have ram 1.5" balls and the 2008 tubes do they work well on outbacks? Would like them in the long recesses either side of the seat like the arm chair position. But not sure they would go flat and tighten? I would like to use them for trolling, drifting and bait fishing.

Love the forum and thanks in advance for any advice.

Matt
