Actually, truth be told, I kind of harassed it. I spotted this shark well before it saw me, and I tried to sneak up on it to try and get a photo without incident (this event would not have happened had I been smart and turned away as soon as I saw it). But as I came closer it spotted me, came right for me and some rather scary moments followed. It was rather aggressive, especially considering the fact it was only 3 metres long, and my yak was 5. The closer it got, the more obvious it became that I was dealing with a great white, and that it had absolutely no fear of me. It was certainly curious though - especially in the rudder. The clip doesn't do those tense moments where I thought I was about to lose the rudder any justice at all, but it will give you an idea.
So ladies and gentlemen, I present to you a very good reason to never approach a shark this big from a kayak.
