Power Pro Ace

Looks like all my posts showed at once, I am new to this sight and kayaks. I have tons of questions so I will try and pace myself. Thought I could help you guys out a bit on some new stuff I have tried. I just finished reviewing this new hollow core braid (from a competitive bass fishermans view). I have used it in saltwater for striper and sturgeon as well. I'm not sold on it yet, but this might save you guys some headaches and money. Please ignore grammer and spelling, I am a Marine and comunication was not my job.

I have been testing this hollow core for a while now.  I'm not new to hollow core and this is the best so far once you figure out the best way to run it.  Advantages are that the line is slicker than regular braid, casts way better, and line splices to itself, other braid, mono and flourocarbon are 100% line strength and undetectable if done correct.  Problems are the stuff floats like fly line, is flat not round, comes in hi vis yellow, blue, white, takes 30 min to splice after your really good, and requires a 100 dollar tool set to work with. 

Here is how you run it. Connect the hollow core to whatever you already have spooled on and spool up just enough so you don't hit your backing (at 100 bucks for 300 yards you will want to do this).  On my rods that already have power pro, I just spliced about 30 yards.  Use the instructions and put a knot less loop in the end of your main, (now throw away the video and instructions).  I tie up leaders with a loop out of a different color ace and put them on one of those leader holder things trout guys love.  The loop to loop connection with the ace is undetectable unless you use 2 different colors or a sharpie.  At the joint were your mono/flouro comes out of the ace tie a nail knot with the floss right on the end over the top.   You don't need to do that crazy knot they show in the video, it's to hard to make right and you will feel it through the guides.  If running straight ace, thread some 10 or 12# mono about 4' inside, this gives the line some body so no more fouled baits and tip wraps, and great knot strength.
