reworked my fishn buddy mount. I was using the C clamp mount in the cup holder, but really didn't clamping it down tight on hull. I also cut about 6" off the shaft and epoxied it back together. Long shaft was causing unit to tip back at high speed. Will try out this weekend.. can't wait!!

Please keep us updated on the Buddy unit... I almost ordered the base model yesterday, but decided to recon a bit more.

Thought about trying to borrow my Humm 565 unit off my powerboat, but buying another transducer etc is still expensive. I don't need a depthfinder often, but the Buddy unit sure is quick/easy.

:D works great... no more tipping in the holder. only problem is that it will not read bottom at high speed. works fine when trolling.

I have an older Buddy II that I used float tubing 12 or 13 years ago. Nice little unit and the side scan is cool. May have to try mounting it on my wifes yak.

Thanks for the idea.
