Last two times I went out, there was so much bait around the pier at the beach I launch from. Got me wondering how difficult it would be to throw a cast net from the Outback or Revo? Does anyone here do it and what tips do you have?

I think you could easily do a 3' since you fold it in half anyway...maybe even do the 4'. I haven't tried in the yak yet, but I do throw regularly up to 6'...which is nothing compared to many who throw up to 15'+

I throw a 3 ftr from my Revo and OB, throw a 6 from my PA... not just the throwing / balance issue, but anything over three in an OB and especially a revo is a LOT of net to store when not in use.. yep, I know you can wrap it up and make it pretty small, but I like to have mine within easy reach and ready to go in case I run up on a school of bait...

how heavy/bulky is the 3ft net? could I stash it in the front hatch of a Revo11?

I throw a 4' cast net from my Outback, while seated...it takes practice.

Here's a good video showing a kayak-based technique:

I think I'm going to get a 4ft and give it a try.

Rob throws a 5' from his Revo no problem. The bait has been pretty thick right under the pier most days but last weekend they were in whiskey creek down by the bridge. Heard there was a huge school of mullet in about 80' on Sunday.
