Just jumping in to get my feet wet in this forum. Been kayak fishing for a few years now. Got a 2014 PA14 in Jan. Haven't gotten it wet yet. Getting stir crazy in this sub-zero weather. I'm amazed at the amount of info on this forum. Hope to contribute when I can.

Yes, the weather in Ohio is quite beautiful this time of year. Spring will be here soon and there are plenty of places to go kayak fishing.

Welcome aboard, Lumpyman!

You will love your PA series. They are addictive. And this forum is a fountain of great contributers and very knowledgable kayak anglers who are really unselfish in passing on ideas and tips, and answering questions.

Outfitting your PA is a very personal thing. Try to go minimal until you are sure you want to add something, and make sure everything of value floats. It is easy to get complacent. I turtled one of my Hobies last summer for the first time in ten years because I got careless at exactly the wrong time when a careless wave runner used me as a target.

And if you feel the need to get some excercise while waiting for your Spring thaw, there is about 18 inches of snow between me and my Hobie storage unit this morning. And my wife would welcome the help to get HER Hobie out!
